The Cowboy represents the free spirit of man and horse running in a seemingly endless ride. Like the Greek Centaur, horse and rider seem to be locked into a single motion as if they were both interconnected at the spine. Not a personal depiction, the intention of this work was more a universal statement than a particular one. The Cowboy was a concept proposal for a major monument representing the spirit of the west, the challenges of life on the western frontier and the role the cowboy and the horse played in the American western expansion.
